Princess

Children’s art inspires me, partly my own pictures as a child, as well as other children’s pictures. I am engaged in human life in ordinary everyday situations and the town as a way of life. This I have tried to express in my thematic series “ bus queue”. The series is composed of nine pictures of  small busses of various colours and moods. There are for instance a bus in grey weather, a night bus, a happy bus and and the empty bus. I keep the naivistic expression, working at the same time with urban life. I like to work with larger thematic projects, where the different expressions together form a whole.

The starting point for my pictures of princesses was drawings I made at the age of seven.Many of the drawings I made as a child have been kept until today. These drawings are an essential source of inspiration. I began to collect drawings of princesses that I and other girls have made. Many girls are engaged in drawing pictures of princesses at the age of 5 to 8. The pictures show a spontanety and imagination that is fascinating. The pictures are made before you are engaged in learning to draw correctly.
